There is a new arrival at Lone Elk Park. An American Bison calf was born on Jan. 3, 2013. Wildlife management officials believe it is a bull calf at this time. They admit that this is an unusual time for bison to give birth so park staff are keeping a close eye on the baby.
You can try to see the calf at the park now, but be careful. A herd can be aggressive when there is a newborn.
Lone Elk Park is a wildlife management area with bison, wild turkey, waterfowl, elk and deer.
